Register today for the OTRF 2025-2026 clinical athletic training residency program
OTRF is accepting applications until March 15, 2025.
During the last 20 years, the Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Teaching and Research Foundation (OTRF) taught more than 40 athletic trainers the skills and knowledge to step directly into an orthopaedic clinical setting and make an immediate and valuable impact.
As a resident in this CAATE-accredited OTRF program, athletic trainers will:
- Learn to work in the clinic and operating room side-by-side with orthopaedic surgeons.
- Broaden your orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine knowledge base.
- Enhance your clinical evaluation and diagnostic skills.
- First assist in orthopaedic surgery on sports medicine, shoulder and knee cases.
- Contribute to orthopaedic research and publications.
- Learn to present patient histories, exams and clinical plans in an effective and efficient manner.
- Learn to interpret radiology and MRI imaging.
- Learn to critically read and interpret literature in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine.
- Earn your NBCOT orthopaedic technologist certification (OTC).
- Discover unlimited employment opportunities in the field of clinical orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine with normal work hours.
